I did however ask both my kids to try to get the NuVo system set up and running as they're used to the Sonos set up (they set up my sisters) and after many days of trying they basically said, "sorry dad" we can't figure it out as there are many more options than the Sonos system which makes sense why it's more involved to set up. I have to get my kids to reformat the pc. I'm an avid diyer but I don't do well when it comes to pc's and software. NuVo NuVo NV-CTP36 Color Touch Pad, (Extra Touchpads) only one installed so far. NV-WIPS Wireless NuVo Dock for Ipod, Iphone etc.
The only progress in the last week is my son downloaded the android app and it does control the system. I did use 2 of the audioplex impedance matching speaker selector as you suggested about a year ago which allows me to only go with 8 zones for about 14 rooms, So far I've only got 3 out of 8 zones hooked up to keypads. I can try again this evening and see what problems I have to jog my memory. I did connect the GC to a laptop and was able to make some adjustments to the keypads but I couldn't get all the options to work.
The Music Port came with about a dozen jazz songs pre installed and they work, but I don't know how to download my own music. I've highlighted the ones that have been installed. Yes I installed the (2.66) software for the GC and Music Port (V0.26), below are the components I have. I do have the remote and ipod dock but haven't hooked it up yet. I also bought the learning station but don't believe I needed it since everything is NuVo based. I absolutely love the NuVo GC but I'm not tech savy. I can't seem to download music to the music port. I can’t control the section containing bass, treble, balance, loudness comp, etc. I can't seem to get the sync tool to work with the Music Port. The display on the Tuner doesn't work and I'm having a difficult time programing it, but first need to set up antennae. Getting the NV-CTP36 touch pads to work, but I understand they have to be programed, I just don't know how. I've also figured out how to add two keypads in one zone by way of a slave keypad. The progress that I've made is I've finally been able to control other zones via one keypad, in other words, turn on the music in the kitchen via the family room keypad, but it's hit and miss.
I've made very little progress in the install as I believe it's mainly a software issue. I appreciate the reply naggz, as I know I have to spend much more time to figure it out but not looking forward to the confusion. Since it's dealer only on this system I can't get any dealer support as I bypassed the dealer and bought new in the States. I would assume 2 hours on set up would have been sufficient. In conclusion, I don't believe it should have taken me 15 hrs and still not have it set up properly.
Also between the GC, Music Port, Tuner etc, there are hundreds of pages in the manual and it's somewhat overwhelming to me. I've reread the manual several times but get confused on the lingo based on my limited pc experience. You mentioned "ensure the control pad is set up, and set to the correct source" I believe that is one of my problems as I'm unsure how to do so. I also can't control other zones via any keypad as well as many other options I can't access. Yes I do get music as well as some radio stations but it's not consistent, in other words, everytime I turn on the system via keypads, it's hit and miss as to the setup/functions and I normally have to toggle through zones/tuner etc just to get music playing. There is a cd that comes with it and I installed it along with the latest update, but not being pc savy I don't really understand how to set it up software wise.
